PEMBROKE - Henry "Hank" Arnold Maxwell, 78, of Pembroke, NH, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022 in North Myrtle Beach, SC; following a period of declining health.

Born on August 26, 1943 in Portland, ME, Hank was the son of the late Stanley and Rita (Bagley) Maxwell.

Following high school in Whitefield, NH, Hank was stationed in Hawai'i where he served proudly in the United States Army. Following his discharge, Hank returned to NH where he married Carol Jean Hilliard with whom he raised three children.

Hank retired from a career in the electric utility industry where he enjoyed his early years working in the field as a Lineman, and later years educating his fellow linemen in the proper use of line working tools.

An adventurer at heart, Hank traveled around the world for work and pleasure, venturing north of the Arctic Circle and transiting the Panama Canal. He visited most of the fifty United States and many countries and territories including Aruba, Canada, Cayman Islands, Colombia, Costa Rica, England, Germany, Guam, Mexico, Pakistan, Panama, Philippines, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, and Taiwan but returned several times to his two favorite destinations, Alaska and Hawai'i.

Always an idea man, Hank is named on five United States patents.

Hank was a tough guy with a soft underbelly. He loved telling tall tales to little kids, and never turned down an opportunity to hold a baby. He enjoyed golf, shouting at the television during football games, and spending time with friends and family.

Hank is predeceased by his brothers Thomas Maxwell, and Stanley Maxwell.
