Jaime Antonio "Tony" Olivera, age 60, of St. Augustine, passed away on June 22, 2014 at Baptist Medical Center South in Jacksonville, with his loved ones by his side. A native of Lima, Peru, Tony immigrated to the United States in 1990, settling in Miami, FL. He was a longtime resident of Jacksonville, and had recently moved to St. Augustine. Tony worked as a handyman for many years doing home renovation on historic homes with architect Michelle Martin. The oldest of ten children, Tony was a beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Olivera of Miami; sisters, Mary Olivera and Cecelia Olivera of Lima, Peru, Mili Olivera of St. Augustine; brothers Angel Olivera, Miguel Chavez, Julio Chavez, Juan Pablo Chavez of Lima, Peru, Roberto Olivera of St. Augustine and Francisco Chavez of Australia, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Jaime Olivera and Carmen Salinas. Private services will be held. St. Johns Family Funeral Home in is in charge of arrangements.
