He was born on February 23, 1951 in Danville, the son of late Charles and Violet (Chamberlain) McDonald.
Thomas was a 1968 graduate of Southern Columbia School District. He worked in construction as a carpenter.
Thomas is survived by two daughters, Tanya Paterson and husband, Erik, and Tammy Foulds; a son Tom McDonald and wife, Dorene; fourteen grandchildren, Dustin McDonald, Tyler Petro, Justin Petro, Damian McDonald, Chloe McDonald, Richard Hornberger Jr., Chad Lytle Jr., Kyle Lytle, Seth Lytle, Paul Foulds Jr., Violet Foulds, Tatum Paterson, Joshua Reichenbach Jr., and Tori Minor; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by four brother, John, Robert, William, and James.
