She was a graduate of Cool Springs High School and the Spartanburg General Hospital School of Nursing where she received her Nursing Degree. Colleen work as a Registered Nurse at Rutherford Hospital before moving to Cleveland Memorial Hospital in Shelby where she spent the majority of her career and retired.
She was a member of First Wesleyan Church of Forest City. Her hobbies included crafts of any kind and cooking. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Among the most important things in her life was being a wife, a loving mother and grandmother and a Christian woman.
In 1958 she married her husband, Garland E. Morris who died in 2010.
Survivors include her son, Douglas E. Morris and wife Barbara of Gastonia, her daughters, Patti Morris Reynolds and husband Robert of Ellenboro, and Melanie Morris Duncan and her husband John of Gastonia. There are also six grandchildren, Paige Reynolds, Taylor Downey, William Morris, Madeline Morris, Shelby Duncan, and Joshua Duncan, as well as her great-grandchild, Colton Downey.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock on Thursday afternoon in The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Eric Yelton officiating. The family will receive friends from12 noon until the hour of service at the mortuary. Interment will be private at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
