Danny Rich Vaughan, 64, went to be with his beloved Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 1, 2022 after years of battling a series of illnesses. He was born February 6, 1958 in Elk City, OK to William Calvin Vaughan II (Pete) and Virginia Bowen Vaughan. He was raised in Carter, OK with his parents and one brother, William Calvin Vaughan, III.

Danny graduated from Holliday High School in 1976. He took his passion for music and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Oklahoma Christian College and a Master of Music Degree at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. He became a much loved and respected teacher at the Jazz Lab at UCO in Edmond. Danny was also the first call freelance guitarist in the OKC area for over 30 years playing in many bands, shows and orchestras over the years including the local band Odyssey, the CSU Jazz Ensemble 1 and 2, OKC Philharmonic, local Dixieland groups, worship bands, Lyric Theatre Pit with shows such as The Lion King, The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof and many Oklahoma's. He retired from UCO in January 2018.

Danny and his first wife Melissa had three wonderful children, Sara Elizabeth, David Andrew and Ian Matthew. Eventually, he met Cindy from El Dorado, Arkansas who he married in 2004. After his retirement, he and Cindy moved to Ada, OK. They were happy together until the end.

Preceding him in death are his mom and dad, his stepdads, his brother, his first wife Melissa Oswald and his step-daughter, Heather Price.

He is survived by his devoted wife Cindy Vaughan of Ada, OK, his children: Sara Vaughan of Norman, OK, David Vaughan of Stillwater, OK and Ian Vaughan of Columbia, MO; his stepchildren and spouses: Brian Price of El Dorado, AR, Kirsten Alexander of El Dorado, AR, Seth Birkeland and his wife Chasity of Smackover, AR, Elora Collver and her husband Matthew of Denver, CO, and Dru Birkeland and his wife Kailey of Birmingham, AL; his two lovely nieces, Cheri Cumiford and Kimberly Vaughan. He was loved by his 15 grandchildren who call him Grandanny.

Visitation will be held at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada, OK on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at North Church, 1601 W. Memorial Rd., Okla. City, OK (405) 341-1200, with Pastor Rodney Fouts officiating. A visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. at the North Church before service time. A private burial will follow under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home in Elk City, OK at Ural Cemetery.
