Linda Lou Hay, 75, Berlin and Cumberland, MD, died April 1, 2022 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born July 30, 1946 in Meyersdale, daughter of the late Robert Earl and Grace Luella (Swearman) Hay. Survived by siblings: Mary (Don) Stotler, Berlin, Daniel Hay, Cumberland, MD, and David (Virginia) Hay, Somerset; two nieces: Jana Stotler and Lindsey (Brian) Cioci. Member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin. She was a 1964 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and a 1965 graduate of Maryland Legal Secretary School in Hagerstown. Linda was employed 11 years as a legal secretary and a Notary Public for Attorney Frank Orban along with typing manuscripts as a sideline job. She was one of the original employees of the Joseph Brandenburg Center in Cumberland, retiring on Dec. 1, 2009 after more than 31 years service. Appreciation is extended to Wendy and Waide Stanton and Ed Kabina for their devoted care and assistance at the farm. An avid reader, Linda enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and enjoyed caring for numerous dogs and cats. Linda believed in organ donation. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
