Born in Boston, a son to the late Donald J. and Mary (McLaughlin) Phillips, he was raised and educated in Boston. A veteran of the US Navy he served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. Donald was employed as a meat packer in the meat packaging industry.
A communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Easton he attended daily Mass. He enjoyed playing bingo, cards and going to the former Raynham Taunton Dog Track.
Donald's nieces and nephews were an important part of his life.
Donald is survived by his siblings, Richard Phillips and his wife Colleen of Quincy, Kenneth Phillips of Weymouth, and Susan Fine and her former husband James of Easton; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Claire Powers and Edward "Teddy" Phillips.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main Street, Easton.
