Heinrich Weppler was a son of Johann Heinrich Weppler (1783-1863) and Anna Eva Neeb (1801-1887). He was born in Undenhausen, a village in Hesse, Germany. In 1837, Heinrich, along with his parents and siblings, sailed from Bremen, Germany, aboard the ship Johann Friedrich and arrived in New York City on September 12. The family settled in Wilmot Township in Upper Canada (now Ontario).

Henry married Elizabeth Boecking on January 30, 1848. The couple had six known children:
- Catharine (1848-1879)
- Anna (1851-1935)
- Heinrich "Henry" (1854-1936)
- Elizabeth (1857-1940)
- Daniel (1860-1949)
- Susannah (1864-1919)

Henry Weppler was in his 85th year when he died on December 21, 1907.
