Paul Albert Perry
December 3, 1927 - March 28, 2022
Sacramento, California - After a long and beautiful life, Paul passed away peacefully in Sacramento at the age of 94. With an unequivocal passion for golf, Paul was still golfing 2-3 times a week in his early 90s. We feel at peace knowing that he is happy now at the 19th tee box, and following a round of golf, having an intimate dinner with the love of his life, Carolyn, who passed away in 2020.
Remembered for his friendly and gregarious nature, Paul always offered an unconditional love and commitment to his family and friends, a nonjudgmental attitude, the ability to forgive, and showed unwavering devotion to his Catholic faith. His grandchildren remember him best for his outstanding Sunday waffles, for which the recipe is still a secret to this day. He was also known for spoiling all of the grandchildren's pets, much to their parents' chagrin. Paul graduated from Bellarmine Prep Academy in San Jose and continued on to study at the University of San Francisco. In 1953, he married Carolyn Panattoni and together they raised five children in Sacramento. He worked in the family's printing business before relocating to Seattle, Washington in 1970. In Seattle, he worked in the leasing business for 20 years before retiring. In retirement, Paul's fervor for golf continued. He played in many senior tournaments in the northwest and played many rounds at clubs in Pebble Beach, Lake Tahoe, Seattle, Oahu, Maui, Sacramento and Palm Springs. In 2017, Paul and Carolyn relocated back to Sacramento. At Mercy McMahon Terrace Assisted Living, they happily lived their final years together in peace, dignity, honor, joy, and in the words of Paul, "in a harmonious and legal manner." Paul is survived by his children: Ann Marie Perry-Faires (David), Paul Michael's surviving wife (Marilyn Baughn), David Joseph (Katryn) Perry, and 'the twins' Susan Stockburger (Greg) and Carla Panattoni; grandchildren – Daniel Faires, Anna Faires-Dyer (Robert), Nicholas Perry, Jenn Perry-Panattoni Holbrook (Andreas), Ruth Perry-Lann (Jonathan), Joseph Perry, Marc Hough and Jeffrey (Djouher) Hough, Gretchen Gunn-Kunduru (Sunjeeve), Lena Gunn and great grandchildren – Alexandra, Isabella, Madeline, Hunter, Cole, Dominic, Max, Layla, Robert, Terese and Callan. He is survived by his siblings: Angele Perry-Belton, George Perry and Marie Perry-Nelson and was beloved by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Paul joins in heaven his wife of 67 years, Carolyn Panattoni Perry, parents Albert Paul Perry (stepmother Violet Perry) and Lucille West-Annis, his son Paul Michael and grandchildren Andrea Perry, Joshua Perry and Rachel Faires, and siblings Carolyn Perry-Winter, John Perry and Joyce Perry Tuchsherer.
The Rosary (10:30am) and funeral Mass (11:00am) will be held Wed, April 6, 2022 in Sacramento at Holy Spirit Church, 3159 Land Park Dr. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Paul's name to: Mercy McMahon Terrace, 3865 J St, Sacramento, CA 95816: https://supportmercyfoundation.org/special-giving-mmt or Hospice-Sutter Care at Home, 8334 Ferguson Ave, Sacramento, CA 95828.
