ROAD FATALITIES
The traffic fatalities

- John C Knudele, 60, and his wife, Gladys, 54, both of West Point, were killed in a two-car crash at the intersection of Highways 133 and 36, northwest of Omaha, about 3 a.m. Sunday.
- Ernest Gembola, 32, Lincoln, was killed instantly early Saturday morning in a car-pick up collision at the intersection of Highways 20 and 183 in Bassett.

Injured in the accident near Laurel were John Barr Jr, 16, Wayne, driver of one of the cars; Keith Rohrke, 15, Wayne; Melvin Meyer, 15, Wayne; and Mr. and Mrs. Kiekbush, both 86, LaCross, Wis.

IN BACK SEAT
All three girls, who died as a result of the accident, were riding in the back seat of the Barr car.

Trooper Roy Van Winkle, of Plainview, said the Barr auto was apparently turning around on the highway when the accident occurred. Cedar County Sheriff John Rube assisted in the investigation.

Gembola died when the west bound vehicle he was driving was in collision with a north-bound car driven by Karl Almquist of Mason City.

Mr. and Mrs. Milton Klein, passengers in the Gembola car were injured and taken to a Bassett hospital for treatment. Mr. Almquist was held overnight at the hospital. His wife is still hospitalized.

The holiday road fatalities brought the year's total in the 19 county Troop B area of Northeast Nebraska to 20, compared to 15 a year ago at the same time.

CLIMBS INTO BIN
Investigating authorities said the Wolff boy apparently climbed into a bin being filled with corn. He was discovered when his feet were seen sticking out of an auger hole at the bottom of the bin.

Funeral services for the Wolff child were Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk with Pastor A. T. Bostelmann officiating. Burial was in New Lutheran Cemetery.

Music for the services was furnished by church school children singing hymns and organist Martin Barlau.

Pallbearers were James Mrsny, Michael Voelter, Duane Klug, and Vernon Beckman.

Survivors include his parents, two sisters, Lori and Lisa, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Wolff of Norfolk and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Denney of Stanton.

Great-grandparents of the child are Fred Wolff of Norfolk, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Wood and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Denney, all of Stanton.

Two Pender sisters were injured Sunday night in a two-car accident three miles northwest of Bancroft on Highway 16.

Mrs. Ella Wolf received fractures of both arms and cuts and bruises. Her sister, Mrs. Tillie Siemers, received head lacerations and a knee injury. Their car was hit at the rear by an auto driven by Lyle Redding of Decatur.

The impact of the collision caused the women's car to go into the ditch, roll over and land in a field. The Redding car also went into the ditch. Trooper Ruppert of Oakland investigated.

An Omaha couple and their three children were injured in a one-car accident Saturday afternoon on the south side of the Elkorn River bridge on Highway 275 south of West Point.

Eugene Petricek, 26, swerved his car to the right to miss a car making a left turn and his car went into the ditch and rolled on its side. The other car was driven by Glen Beaumont, 55, Snyder.
