Mae Elizabeth Bauerband, 94, a resident of Tribute of Black Hill, Germantown, Maryland passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.

Mae was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family and friends will remember Mae as an active, vibrant person who instilled in her family a strong faith, the discipline of hard work, and compassion for others.

Mae married Walter on May 17, 1952 and they shared their lives together for an amazing 51 years until his death.

Mae volunteered at St. Catherine Laboure working in the school library and supported the annual bazaars and rummage sales. She was an active member of the Holy Cross Auxiliary and Sodality. Mae was an avid bowler winning several trophies, she played golf with Walter, and enjoyed a monthly poker game with her girlfriends. Mae enjoyed reading, embroidery, and knitting afghans for family and friends. She loved to cook and was known for her amazing cheesecake.

Mae is survived by two daughters, Gloria Cranford (Bob) and Mae Forsythe (Curt); two grandchildren, Heather & Robert Joseph "RJ" Cranford; and one great-son, Robert Austin Cranford.

A viewing will be held at Mother Seton Catholic Church, 19951 Fr. Hurley Blvd., Germantown, MD, Monday, March 28, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
