Thomas – Joseph C., 84, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2022. Born on May 18, 1937 in Johnstown, son of Joseph Thomas and Emma (Bobby) Malek. Preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Paula Ann; brother, John, and half-brother, Michael Malek. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Augustine M. (Paolillo) Thomas; children, Joseph (Cynthia) Thomas Jr., Christine M. Roberts, and Paul O. (Amy) Thomas; 5 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; half-brother, Andrew Malek and several nieces and nephews. Joseph was a US Army Veteran. He retired from Emglo Products after 45 years of service. Joseph was a member of St. Clare of Assisi, Jackson Township Community Rod and Gun Club; and a life-time NRA member. He enjoyed the outdoors. Joseph loved hunting with his sons, cooking with his daughter and traveling with his wife. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Clare of Assisi, Fr. George M. Gulash. Committal will be at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Geistown, with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. The family suggests contributions be directed to Family House Shadyside, 5245 Centre Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15232, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 3551 N.
