BARNES, TONI ANN
of Kalamazoo, MI

Toni Ann Barnes, age 66, went home to be with her Lord on December 5, 2020. Toni was born May 3, 1954 in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of Howard and Janet (Harritt) Barnes. She was a lifelong area resident and received her Licensed Practical Nurse degree from Kalamazoo Valley Community College and her Bachelors of Science degree from Central Michigan University. For over 30 years she was employed in healthcare as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Toni was a longtime active member of Berean Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities throughout the years, including HeartLife at Berean for 17 years. She enjoyed knitting, crafting, writing and reading, especially about women in history. The most important part of her life was spending time with all of her church family and the many children that she "adopted" throughout the years.

Surviving are her sister Tina (Jim) Greene; her brother Leonard (Susan) Barnes, several nieces and nephews; and many special "adopted" family and friends. Toni was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Janet Barnes.

Due to Covid concerns and restrictions, private services will be held. A private burial will take place in Grand Junction Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Toni's memory may be directed to Berean Women's Ministry.
