WASHINGTON ~ Private funeral services will be held at a later date for Jess Watkins, age 82, who passed away Friday, May 8, 2020 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice.

Mr. Watkins was a native of Pryor, Oklahoma and a longtime resident of Washington. He was employed with Opelousas Hope Hook & Ladder for 31 years. He was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association Chapter O - Louisiana.

Survivors include three daughters, Denise David and her husband, Don, of Lafayette, Lisa Boudreaux and Kaye Victorian of Opelousas; his grandchildren, Brian Boudreaux and wife, Alex, Dustin Boudreaux, Emily Boudreaux, Sarah Boudreaux, Jessica Davis Musson and husband, David, Joseph Davis, Christopher Savoie and wife, Jennifer, and David Savoie and wife, Allie; and his great-great-grandchildren, Beau Boudreaux, Gianna Boudreaux, David Musson, III, Magnolia Savoie and Winnie Savoie. The family would also like to acknowledge Rose Ann Benoit, Carolyn Watkins and Elaine Watkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmitt Curry Watkins and the former Dorothy Jane Manly; a son-in-law, Bruce Boudreaux; two brothers, G.L. Watkins and Jerry Lee Watkins; and a great-great-grandson, Matthew Boudreaux.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Mr. Watkins's nurses at Acadian Medical Center, especially Theresa and Karen, for going above and beyond, and to Dr. Rainey for his outstanding care.
