On Tuesday, March 29, 2022, Sister Helen Marie of Elkhart went home to join her mother and many other family members in heaven from the Hospice Care, Raclin House in Mishawaka. Helen was born on December 5, 1948 in Newark, New Jersey to Anthony Schwickrath and Helen D. (Grant) Watson.
Helen was a sweet, loving mother, sister and friend to many. She loved going to church and was a member of the New Testament Bible Church, of which her sister Shirley Fox is Pastor. Her second love was children; she enjoyed taking care of them and helped with Sunday school.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two infant daughters Christine Ann and Jeanette McDaniel; and one brother Mark Cranmer.
Helen is survived by her daughter Anna McDaniel, one sister Pastor Shirley, (Randy) Fox, Elkhart, two brothers Timothy, (Debbie) Cranmer, Osceola and Paul Watson of Elkhart. Several loving nieces and nephews: Angie Jackson and Richard Hooven, Shawn Cranmer, Rochelle Watson and Charles Filley. Also great nieces and nephews: Charlie Jackson, Amber, Richie, Cayson, Joshua, and Lilly Hooven, and Keegan and Kyson Filley, and Kiyha and Kenna Jackson.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Monday, April 4, 2022 at New Testament Bible Church, 29718 County Road 18, Elkhart. Services to celebrate Helen's life will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 1:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be held directly afterwards at Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart.
In liu of flowers, contributions can be made to Helen's daughter Anna.
