Joan was born in Payette Idaho at home of her parents Emil Heidelberger and
Lillie Bosch. Joan had 3 older brothers, 3 old sisters and 1 younger sister.

Her parents owned a small farm and a 2 bedroom house on the North side of Payette. She attended Payette High school and in her Senior Year she got married to a Dale Neill.

They moved to Weiser, Idaho were they operated a gas station and then later on a grocery store. They had 3 children together Baron, Brenda, and Robert.

After a fire burned down their store, the family moved to Orangevale California to live near Joan's older sister. Not long after that Joan and Dale got a divorced and Dale moved back to Idaho.

Joan was working as an accountant for a drill and bit construction company when she met her 2nd husband Ron Neubauer who was also a divorcee raising 2 children of his own.

After they were married they bought a 3 bedroom home in Loomis, California where all 5 children lived along with a family friend and their newest addition Ron Jr.

Joan and Ron Sr. became members of the Church of Christ and were faithful Christian the rest of their lives. After retiring they joined the Sojourners organization and volunteered their time traveling in their large motor-home to Churches all over the country and assisting with needed Help.

After the death of Ron, Joan remarried to fellow Sojourner Bernard Straker. They lived in Fruitland Idaho, and Joan volunteered her time at the local hospital. Joan was an accomplished Quilter and made numerous Quilts for family and friends.
