Robert Taylor Hawkins, age 82 of Cookeville passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 at his home. He was born January 2, 1940 in Putnam County to the late Robert and Lillian Florance Ford Hawkins.

He retired as a lineman from the Upper Cumberland Electric Cooperative and worked at Carwile Mechanical as a plumber. He enjoyed car racing at Buffalo Valley. He enjoyed yard work and worked hard to maintain a well-manicured lawn. He loved helping people and spent a lot of time serving others. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother: Richard Hawkins; sisters: Evelyn Walker, Pauline Jarvis, and Barbara Farley; daughter-in-law: Linda Stamps Martin and stepdaughter: Angela Garrett.

Robert is survived by his wife of almost 20 years, Linda Clark Hawkins; son, Robbie Hawkins of Cookeville; daughter, Terri Coker of Knoxville; three step-daughters, Pamela Halsell and Janell Rittenberry of Cookeville and Catrina Bertsch of Indianapolis, IN; granddaughter, Lindsey Alison Biance; 8 step-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren; and best friend, Chester Sullivan.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Midway Baptist Church. Bro. Jeff Wright will officiate.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday April 9th at Midway Baptist Church. Jeff Wright will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
