Dorothy Hale, 102, of Sullivan, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Millers Merry Manor. She was born in Wayne County IL, on June 8, 1919, to Lewis Barnard and Clara Barnard. Dorothy was a graduate of Wayne County High School, married her husband Sidney J Hale on July 2, 1941, and together they started their family. She had worked at the Gossard Factory and the Roots Department Store. She was a faithful member of the Sullivan First United Methodist Church, Sullivan Elks and the Psi Iota Xi Sorority. preceding her in death are her parents, her husband Sidney, a son Ronald Hale, brothers Cecil Barnard and Don Barnard.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Magner and her husband Trent of Paoli IN, grandchildren, Laura Gilmore, Matt Gilmore, Melissa Newton, Mandy Hale, Reid Magner, Stephanie Garrido, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Services for Dorothy will be on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at The Sullivan First United Methodist Church, 107 N Court, Sullivan IN, with Pastor Lance Newton officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of services. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Sullivan First United Methodist Church.
