Mrs. Ruby Nell Grubbs Sanders returned to her heavenly home on Thursday, March 31, 2022, 8 months shy of her 100th birthday.

Ruby was born on December 23, 1922, in Bay Village, Arkansas, to Lonnie Pitts and Rhoda Shannon Grubbs. She was a dedicated member of the First Assembly of God Church in Wynne and loved quilting and fishing. Ruby was one of the first employees of Wal-Mart.

Survivors are her children, Esther Wilson and husband James, Donna Horton and husband John all of the Newcastle Community, Dorothea Boan of Jonesboro, and Vernon Sanders and wife Susan of Jonesboro, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren with one on the way and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Effie Moore of Drummonds, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Rhoda Grubbs, husband, Ollie Sanders in 2015, three sisters and a brother.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 3, 2022, from 1:30 until service time at 3:00 pm at Kernodle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Baxter Horton will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Scott Deere, Nathan Boan, Jason Sanders, John Horton, James Horton, Nick Meyers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Horton, Matthew Boan, Jake Graham, Liam Sanders, Diylan Graham, Corey Deere, Owen Meyers, Luke Deere and Braxton Meyers.
