He was born on February 7, 1944, in Herkimer, the son of the late Kenneth C. and Ethel (Chrisman) Ray and was educated in Herkimer schools, having graduated from Herkimer High School. Ken married Hideko Kiriyama, on October 30, 1967, in Tokyo, Japan. At a young age, Ken entered military service enlisting with the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1969. He retired from New York State Department of Corrections.
Ken loved hunting, fishing, fishing trips to Lake Ontario, annual trips to Maine, the New York Yankees and watching his grandsons play baseball.
