Mr. Overton was a lifetime member of VFW Post 9954. He was also on the Victoria Planning Commission, Lunenburg Health Services Board, and Victoria-Lunenburg Community Centre Board. In addition, he had retired as a minister at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, Deatonville, for 16 years and at Bethel Christian Church, Green Bay, for 55 years. In addition, he was Treasurer for the Victoria High School Alumni Association for 30 years, where he was a member of the Class of 1948.
