Dixie Mae Mahurin Doyle, 91, died Friday, August 19, 2016, at Senior Care of Edinburg.
She moved with the love of her life, Walter Glasscoe Doyle Sr., and her children to McAllen in 1959 and raised five sons here.
She was a member of the Harvey Drive Church of Christ and was an avid golfer at the McAllen Country Club. She also worked in the family business at Doyle's Shoe House.
Mrs. Doyle is survived by her sons, Larry (Janet), Bill (Gloria), and Dick (Yara) Doyle all of McAllen, and Monte (Jeri) Doyle of Seguin; grandchildren, Dianne Fredricksen (Rich) of New Jersey, Julie Joyce (Greg) of Austin, Kymberly Graner (Vern) of Dripping Springs, Michelle Tiner (Jason) of Rhode Island, Theresa Gietz of Marble Falls, Dr. Crystal Doyle Brewer (Jamie) of Ohio, Kevin Doyle (Katie) of Houston, Joel and Justin Doyle of McAllen, and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Walter Glasscoe Doyle Sr.; her son, Walter Glasscoe (Coco) Doyle Jr. and wife, Vicky; three sisters; and one brother.
A memorial service will be held at 4:30 P.M. on Friday, August 26, 2016, at Harvey Drive Church of Christ in McAllen.
