p. 77: Peter Ford was a captain in Burke County, North Carolina Militia -Robert Holmes Regiment. He marched to the Charleston area of South Carolina to counter British threat. Duty ended in March. p. 116: Peter Ford lived near the junction of Avington's Creek and Lower Creek in Burke County, North Carolina (now Caldwell County)

FHL970257: Application No. S22125: James Blair born 1761 in Augusta Co., Va, volunteers in the forepart of the year 1779 in the said county of Burke County, North Carolina under Capt. Peter Foard and Col. Hambright for three months. The company marched from Burke County through Camden, crossed the Sandee River at Nelson's Ferry; went on to Smoke Camps near Charleston, South Carolina. The company was discharged under Capt. Anthony Sharpe. Deposition of James Blair dated 7 June 1832:..."be interred the service way in Burke Co., NC under Peter Ford, Capt Hampton and...." "discharged in Charleston by Lt. Benjamin White, captain, Peter Ford having deserted. James Blair died in 1839. The pension application was copied by Lyman C. Draper and is in 2DD 214-219 of the Draper Collection
