Gary Dale Nelson, 72, of Baytown, Texas, was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday March 30th, 2022. However, if the gates aren't shining to his standards, he may just complain his way back. Gary was born in Marshall, Minnesota on October 29th, 1949 to Kenneth & Hazel Nelson. He was married to Catherine Nelson for 32 years. He worked to provide sweets and trips to the Dollar Store for his grandchildren. This was accomplished through the following: Cabinet Maker by trade and Pipe Fabricator by profession. Since retiring from his profession, he enjoyed sitting in his "man cave" watching Houston sports. Sundays were meant to spend with his family while drinking beer, smoking cigars and armchair officiating.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth & Hazel Nelson, and his two brothers Glen & Gene Nelson.

Gary is survived by his wife, Catherine Nelson, His two sons, Sean (Julie) Nelson & Scott (Melissa) Nelson, His two brothers, Bruce & Larry. His two sisters, Barb & Linda, three grandchildren, Cody, Jakob & Josephine Nelson; all reside in Minnesota. His three children, Brad Bonin, Brandy Miller, and Bridget Caruso, His seven grandchildren, Shana Bonin, Alexis Caruso, Derrick Bonin, Brooke & Bailey Miller, Cameron & Tyler Caruso, His three great grandchildren, Ava & River Reynolds, and Berkley Daniels. Lastly, many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Pallbearers will be Al Nelson, Cody Nelson, Jakob Nelson, Derrick Bonin, Tyler Caruso, and Cody Daniels. Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Love and Terry Perio.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, Texas 77521. Funeral service will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Navarre Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, Baytown, Texas.
