Helen LaNell (Bostic) Brown, age 81, of Austin, Texas, beloved sister, aunt and great-aunt, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 27, 2022. LaNell, as she preferred to be called, was born to Willard M. (Jim) and Lela Helen (Klemm) Bostic at her Grandmother's house in McDade, Texas on June 20, 1940, and was the elder of two daughters. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas, graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and attended The University of Texas at Austin.

LaNell began her career at the Texas Automobile Insurance Service Office, where she made several lifelong friends, and later began her 30 years of employment with the Texas State Board of Insurance while volunteering some of her time with FEMA in disaster areas. During this time, she was an active member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church, serving on the Church Council, Altar Guild, Flower Guild, and as the church's Wedding Coordinator. Creating arrangements while on the Flower Guild allowed her to demonstrate her love of flowers and plants. Her interests included her pets and collecting clown memorabilia. She was a passionate Longhorn fan, attending football games and rooting for her Longhorns. Shortly after retiring in 2015, she suffered a stroke and has been living at The Cottages at Chandler Creek in Round Rock. LaNell made meaningful relationships with many and was a great friend to everyone she met, lending a helping hand wherever she could.
