Charles Philip Bible was born in Rome, Ga. on April 25, 1941 to Charles Gordon Bible & Lera Leontine (Peavy) Bible. Not long after Philip was born, Charles and Lera moved to a small community called Dry Valley, just south of Rossvile, Ga. Philip was around 3 years old at this time. This is where Philip spent most of his younger days. Philip joined the Boy Scouts at a young age. Philip graduated at Rossville High School in Rossville, Ga. Just out of High School, Philip joined the U S Navy. He served 2 years active duty and 4 years reserve duty. While stationed in Norfolk, VA., Philip met his future wife (Doris Jean Judge) in church. they were married on December 2, 1961. During their marriage of 60 + years until they had a son Charles David Bible that only lived for 3 days. Philip & Jean later on adopted a daughter Pamela Jean and a son John Philip. After working several other jobs, Philip joined the Virginia State Police. Philip served and retired from the Virginia State Police after 26 years of dedicated service and was one of the first to achieve Master Trooper status. After retirement, Philip started his on Handy Man Remolding Business, worked at NAPA, worked at Enterprise Car Rental, before finally retiring completely. Philip moved to several other locations such as Lillington, North Carolina, Ringgold, Georgia, Clayton, Georgia, and finally settling down in Greenwood, South Carolina. While living in Greenwood for approx. 7 years, Philip developed lung cancer and eventually lost his battle on March 23, 2022. Philip was a great Big Brother, a Husband, a Father, a Son, and a Devoted Follower of Christ Jesus, that paved the way by example for us younger ones.
