Phyllis J. Mason, age 82 of Caseyville, IL, born August 22, 1939 in Quincy, IL, peacefully passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022 at her residence surrounded by family.

Phyllis was a Collinsville High School graduate. She married Donald L. Mason on November 28, 1957, and together they raised a family of six children, Mike, Robert, Steve, John, Cathy and Donna. She retired as the Village Clerk from the Caseyville Water Department.

Phyllis lived for her family. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking, canning, fishing and was of the Catholic faith. Every year at Christmas family and friends looked forward to her homemade Christmas cookies. At one time she was the Caseyville Senior Firemen's Queen. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Virginia (nee Willenberg) Heitkamp; sister, Shirley Patterson; and husband, Donald Mason.

Surviving are her beloved children: four sons, Mike (Caroline) Mason, Robert (Sherene) Mason, Steve (Stacie) Mason, John (Shannon) Mason; two daughters, Cathy (Mark) Rives and Donna (Mike) Toombs; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Deanne) Heitkamp; sister-in-law, Dee Seal; many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022 and 9 – 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 both at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Burial will be in Caseyville Cemetery, Caseyville, IL.

Memorials may be made to Caseyville Food Pantry and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
