Graveside service for Linda Sue Newell, 84, of Piedmont will be Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. E.S.T. at Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Mrs. Newell passed away Monday, March 28, 2022 at her home. Survivors include one son, Nathan Lyle (Joyce) of Dallas, Ga.; four grandchildren, Nicholas Lyle (Amanda), Alex Lyle (Ashley), Tiffany Perconti (Bernie), and Breanne Pope (Caleb); ten great grandchildren, Roman Lyle, Leilani Lyle, Scarlett Lyle, Sadie Perconti, Bailey Perconti, Hadley Perconti, Ansley Pope, Michael Pope, Maci Pope, and Emma Pope; one sister, Dinah Whitmore (Ray) of Senoia, Ga.; two brothers, Mike Baker of Powder Springs, Ga. and Slater Baker (Martha) of Kennesaw, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Caleb Pope, Brian Whitmore, Issac Whitmore, Wade Baker, Alex Lyle, and Nicholas Lyle. Mrs. Newell was a native of Georgia and had been a resident of Piedmont since 2005. She loved quilting, making porcelain dolls, puzzle books, and arts and crafts. She was the biggest Atlanta Braves baseball fan in Piedmont. Mrs. Newell was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Newell; daughter, Sherry Newell; brother, Bobby Baker; and sisters, Nancy Parks and Betty James Baker.
