On Sunday, March 20, 2022, William "Dwain" Walters, went to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his father Dwain M Walters, mother Frances Lucille Walters, and stepmother Edith Walters. He is survived by his widow Priscilla Walters, son Robert "Robbie" Walters, daughter Linda "Skeeter" Mcleod, and granddaughter Brooklyn Lord whom he raised as his own, stepson Jesse Hart, stepdaughters Martha Edwards, Misty Hart, grand and great grandchildren, a sister Janice and brother-in-law Woody Brundage of California, and nieces and nephews.

Born in Clearwater, FL. and raised in Largo, he hunted, fished, played football, learned to dance, roller skate, throw a cast net, commercial fish, learned to keep bees, smoke mullet, dig ditches, run heavy equipment, and helped his dad build a house in Tarpon Springs.

Dwain was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam war and was trained at the US Army Training Center Engineer and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He stationed at Chu Lai Republic of Vietnam. He was in the Army's 39th Engineer Battalion Land Clearing Team. While in Vietnam he received 3 Purple Hearts, Medal of Honor and several other Medals. His term of service was February of 1969 until September of 1970. When he was discharged his rank was Specialist E5, and he received an Honorable Discharge.

He went to Barber School and cut hair in Gainesville, Crystal River and Williston.

He also became a Charter Boat Captain where he shared his love of fishing and entertaining with many stories and jokes. He retired at the age of 62 due to his struggle with PTSD.

He was well loved by his family and friends. We will all miss him greatly.

A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on Friday, April 8,2022 at 11:00 AM. A celebration of Life will be at his daughter Linda Mcleod's home on Saturday, April 30th, 2022 at 3:00 PM
