The stone pictured was purchased by Ross Thompson, a distant relative from Florida. He placed the names of people he knew were buried in this family cemetery. We learned from census data of Ed's wife Obedience. Mr. Thompson confirmed this fact also. Ed moved here from Henrico County,VA. He and Obedience adopted an orphan son named George Galen Thompson. George inherited the farm after Ed and Obedience died. He married Harriet Ray who is buried here, while George is buried in Hudson Cemetery some two miles to the northwest.
Land on which this cemetery is located was purchase in late 2012, by Ty Smith to be used as pasture for beef cattle. He, along with some friends and neighbors cleared brush and debris from the grown-up cemetery. He purchased and erected a decorative metal fence as an enclosure for the cemetery. Cedar crosses were also built and erected for graves without markers.
