Henry Harris, beloved Husband to Haya Harris, father to Ron Harris, Michael Harris, Vivienne Zargary (daughter from former spouse), Thea Flint (daughter from former spouse) and Martyn Harris (son from former spouse), died peacefully in Las Vegas Nevada on March 25, 2022.

Henry is survived by his wife Haya, and children, Ron Harris, Vivienne Zargary and Martyn Harris. Henry is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren that currently reside in Nevada, Illinois, England and Israel.

Henry was born in Hull/Yorkshire, England on July 13, 1927 and is the son of Victor Harris (1896 – 1978) and Sarah Barnett (1901 – 1992). Henry was raised in Grimsby, a British fishing town where he graduated from high school.

For a limited time, Henry attended college in England but did not complete his degree due to the start of World War II and his service with the Royal Air Force. While in England, he also lived in Hull, Manchester, London and Cleethorpes.

In his early years, Henry worked in the fishing industry with his uncle's business. Henry also honorably served as a Radar Technician in the Royal Air Force during World War II. He was stationed in several areas including England, North Africa and Israel.

Later, he worked on a merchant ship as a purser, where he and his wife Haya Harris began their courtship, which would eventually result in a marriage lasting nearly 53 years. While working on the merchant ship, they had the time of their lives. They sailed the Mediterranean and frequently stopped at various ports including Naples, Marseilles, Monaco, Cyprus and other beautiful locales.

Also, in his early years, Henry played competitive football (soccer) in England. He competed in 2nd division soccer as a skilled amateur with a powerful left foot. He also loved tennis and occasionally played Cricket. Henry also loved to swim. He actually swam regularly until the age of 92.

In 1966, Henry and Haya moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and on November 17, 1969, they were married. They remained happily married for nearly 53 years until Henry's death. They both took great care of each other on a daily basis and loved to spend time with family. God willing, they will one day be together again and sealed for eternity.

In his 60s after working in Sales for a company specializing in commercial dishwashing products and restaurant/resort cleaning and sanitizing products, Henry, and three partners formed a Company called Omni Service, Systems, LLC. Henry prided himself on forming lasting relationships with customers. Based on this philosophy, Omni continues to successfully operate today under new management, following the sale of the Company.

Henry lived a simple and modest life. He valued decency, his dogs and family over material possessions. He conducted business in a decent, respectful and selfless manner and was always very generous with his loved ones.

A few of Henry's favorite pass-time activities included listening to music from Frank Sinatra, sitting on the back patio, near the pool and watching the birds and dogs, while smoking his unlit cigar. He also enjoyed viewing Premier-League Soccer and supporting his favorite team, Manchester City.

Henry also enjoyed watching several shows including "Keeping up Appearances", (British Sitcom), "Benny Hill" (British Comedy) and the old "Star Trek" episodes.

Although he was grumpy at times, Henry lived by faith. He said that we should always believe in God and say our prayers. For much of his life, Henry was very consistent with respect to observing the Jewish Holidays and took pride in leading family Passover Seders.

Henry frequently and consistently prayed and read scriptures. He spoke to God frequently to thank Him and ask for guidance. His example of faith impacted his family and has helped his children and grandchildren to know that we have a loving God.

Henry was and will continue to be a blessing in the lives of his family and those who knew him. His examples of hard work, faith, compassion and dutifulness will live on in our memories. Henry will always be loved, missed and honored. He is loved dearly by family and friends and will always be remembered as a wonderful Husband Father and Grandfather.
