Harry A Hemingway, 87, of Ticonderoga, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Elderwood Nursing Home in Ticonderoga, after a short battle with bladder cancer.
Harry was born June 12, 1934, the son of Edgar and Lillian (LaWare) Hemingway of Altona, NY.
Harry attended school in Altona, NY. He worked on farms in the area and did logging work.
In 1953, Harry joined the U.S. Navy and served proudly for three years. In all of the countries his ship, the U.S. Roanoke, docked, he would go on tours of the area. He enjoyed all the countries, but loved Spain.
After the U.S. Navy, Harry went to work for Labor Local Union # 186 in Plattsburgh. He retired after 30 years in the Union.
Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and taking trips to New Hampshire with his wife of 39 years, Linda. They even saw a moose on one trip. What a sight!
Harry is survived by his wife, Linda (Wallace) Hemingway; two step-daughters; one step-son; one brother; several grandchildren and cousins; and many dear friends.
Harry was pre-deceased by his parents; his granddaughter Sarah Slowinski, his step-son, Randy Agard; and his brothers and sisters.
Burial at the Griswald Cemetery of Pottersville.
