Charles Robert "Bob" Nichols, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on March 27, 2022. He was born on January 12, 1938, in Coffee County, Alabama to the late Daniel and Naomi Grimes Nichols. He resided in New Orleans for the last 62 years. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Bob loved being with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed being on the farm with his tractor, fishing, baseball, and watching the grandsons' activities. He could spin a tale and loved to make people laugh. He was a farm boy in Alabama, then a truck driver in New Orleans for 38 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Nellie Vee, his sisters Marie Dismukes (Houston), Ruth Dismukes (Mack) and Glenice Reynolds; his brothers Harold "Hop" Nichols (Katherine), John Hayward Nichols (Eloise), Dewey "Duke" Nichols (Martha); and his son-in law Sean Brown.

He is survived by his two daughters, his granddaughter, five great-grandsons, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home, 2744 W Magnolia Ave., Geneva, AL on Saturday, April 2, 2022. Visitation beginning at 10:00 am with Services at 11:30. Burial following at Marvin Chapel, Coffee Springs with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing.
