The Rev. George Washington Teems Sr., 94, of 3893 Berry Mill Road, widower of Annie Mae Davenport Teems, died June 11, 2002, at Allen Bennett Hospital.

A native of Dalton, Georgia, son of the late William Lester and Nannie Teems, he was a retired minister and also a member of Highland Church of God of Prophecy.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie and Evelyn Teems of Cross Hill, Buddy and Margie Teems of Greer, and Curtis and Doris Teems, also of Greer; a daughter-in-law, Linda Teems, of Greer; three stepdaughters, Helen Mann of Cocoa, Fla., Bernice George of Greenville and Karen Durham, also of Greenville; a granddaughter raised in the home, Angie Hamby; and a caregiver, Wayne Anderson.

Mr. Teem was predeceased by two sons, Charles Teems and George Teems Jr.

Funeral services will held at 11 a.m. Friday at O'Neal Church of god, conducted by the Rev. Bruce Craig, the Rev. Joel Poole and the Rev. Kenneth Baker. Burial will follow at Highland Church of God of Prophecy.

Mr. Teems grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 tonight at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home of a son, Buddy Teems: 3900 Forrester Road, Greer.
