Mrs. Margie Bennett, 83 of Lenox, Georgia, the West Berrien Community, passed away March 26, 2017 at Tift Regional Medical Center. She was born on August 25, 1933 in Berrien County to Charlie Fred "Tobe" Bennett and Lucille Purvis Bennett. She lived most of her life as a resident of Berrien County.

She loved cooking and enjoyed serving the students in the West Berrien School cafeteria for the Berrien County Board of Education for 28 years. Margie enjoyed ceramics classes and loved having her grandchildren spend the night with her. She also loved her church and the fellowship there as long as she was able to attend. With a quick smile and loving heart, she would reach out for your hand and ask you to stay a little longer. She will be greatly missed because she was greatly loved.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Murray Fender of Lenox; three grandchildren, their spouses, and their children (a total of six great-grandchildren): Becky and Jacob Griggs of Unadilla, Georgia and their children, Ethan, Abby and Maggie; Kim and Bryan Baxley of Havana, Florida and their children, Morgan and Lily Kate; and Andy Fender of Lenox and his son, Eli. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Bennett; a brother, Buck Bennett; and two sisters, Emergean Bryant and Annie Laura Griner.
