Ralph Richard Marley: Funeral services for Ralph Richard Marley, 69, Stringtown, were held Wednesday, August 1, 2001 at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel in Atoka with Rev. Bartt Bradford officiating, assisted by Rev. Gene Sluder. He died at his residence, Saturday, July 28, 2001. He was a rancher. The son of Willie Lee and Grace Lillian Sutton Marley; he was born April 6, 1932 in Stringtown. He attended school at Stringtown and also attended numerous Military Schools. He retried from the U. S. Navy after serving more than 23 years. He served in the Korean conflict and in Vietnam. He was a member of the Baptist faith, a member of the DVA, American Legion and Southwest Cattleman's Association. He and Wilma Byrdean Rowland exchanged wedding vows on June 4, 1953 in Durant. Preceding him in death are his parents, and five brothers, Billy Joe Marley, Baby Boy Marley, Bob by Marley, Don Marley. Honorary pall bearers were Marvin Ishmael, Lloyd Patton, Shea Patton, Bill Givens, Lacy Moore and Palo Allen. Active pall bearers were Steve Heard, Charlie Mason, Dion Kieffer, A. D. Moore, Harry Farris and Lewis Garrett.
