Kara was born August 17, 1983 in Fredonia, KS to Mike and Lisa (Hicks) White. She grew up alongside her older brother Josh, as well as cousins and friends who were all life-long friends to her. She attended Fredonia High School, graduating in the class of 2001. She was a good athlete, and loved playing any sport she could, from track to basketball. After taking some time away from schooling, she decided to attend Mary Grimes School of Nursing at NCCC, obtaining her degree as a Registered Nurse.
Kara loved helping people, so being a nurse was a perfect fit. She worked for a time as a nurse at the Altoona Elementary school, the Wilson County Health department, and most recently was working at Fredonia Regional Hospital. Helping others was so important to her, that she had decided to be an organ donor, and even after passing, her donation helped an additional 55 people with life.
One of her favorite things to do was her Christmas boxes for all the kids, which would be filled with special items for everyone, including new pajamas. She enjoyed doing anything outdoors, loved her dogs and music, but mostly loved her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughters, Jordyn McConnell and Kadynce McConnell
Parents, Mike and Lisa White
Brother, Josh (Shanette) White
Grandmother, Carole Imel
Nieces and nephews, Pyper, Paytlynn, Saige, Madison, and Meagan
Aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends that were considered family
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia, KS. Interment will follow at Fredonia City Cemetery.
