Dick was born and raised in Mt. Pleasant, MI before moving to the Grand Rapids area in the 1960s. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, and was a retired Union Representative for the United Food and Commercial Workers Union. Dick enjoyed downhill skiing and golfing. He cherished spending time at their cottage on Houghton Lake, where he pulled the grandkids on tubes behind the pontoon. He had a good sense of humor and loved telling jokes.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, April 30 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, prior to the service, at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Kent Memorial Gardens.
