James L. "Lefty" Meyer, 76, of Princeton, passed away on Saturday, March 26, in St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley.
Services for James and his wife, Anna will be held 12 p.m. Thursday in New Hope Church of the Nazarene, Princeton, with Rev. Laura Tanner officiating. Interment will follow in Valley Memorial Park, Spring Valley, with military honors. His family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of services Thursday in the church. James was born on March 16, 1946, in Spring Valley, to Elmer and Hanna "Tootsie" (Humpage) Meyer. He was a graduate of Hall Township High School. He married Anna M. Fisher onMarch 17, 1973. He served in the United States Army. He had worked at Harper Wyman. He was a member of the New Hope Church of the Nazarene, Princeton.
He is survived by: his sons, Lawrence Meyer of Jacksonville, Illinois, David (Margaret Skaggs) Meyer of Edinburg, Illinois, and Adam Meyer of Graymont, Illinois; 6 grandchildren; his sister, Nancy (Jack) Weberski of LaSalle; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; and his wife, Anna.
