Rick Allen Moore, age 75, of Elsie, MI, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.

A Graveside Service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 13, 2022, with Pastor Zella Daniel officiating.

Rick was born in Ovid, Michigan on November 16, 1946, the son of Richard and Margaret (Waggoner) Moore. Rick grew up in Bannister on the family farm where he worked alongside his mom and dad. He graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1965. Rick married Mary Suzanne Jenks on August 28, 1966, at the United Methodist Church in Ovid.

Rick proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He did three tours in Antarctica as an air traffic controller during Operation Deep Freeze. He retired from Ashland Chemical as a truck driver after 30 years of service. He began volunteering in 1992 with Elsie Area Ambulance Service for many years and he also served as a director for a short time. He also volunteered with Ovid Ambulance Service and worked at Clinton Area Ambulance Service. Rick loved camping, watching freighters at the cabin in the Soo, and John Deere. He loved spending time with his family, his dog Missy and cat Misha.

He is survived by his wife Suzanne Moore of Elsie, MI; children: Katie and Barry Moore of Elsie, MI; Bryan and Jen Moore of Ashley, MI; Brandon and Beth Moore of Portland, MI; Scott and Sasha Moore of Traverse City, MI; grandchildren: Kyla and Nate Irvine, O'Malley Moore (Noalyn Gove), Bailey Edgar (Tyler Henry), Raygan Moore, Samantha Moore, Patience Moore, and Spencer Moore. He is also survived by his sister Marcie and Ron Applebee of Statesboro, GA; one brother Todd and Tammy Moore of Midland, MI; sister-in-law Sally and Renee Secor-Jenks of Owosso, MI; brother-in-law Lee and Jean Jenks of Bad Axe, MI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Bryce Moore, mother and father-in-law: Evelyn and Richard Jenks and nephew Christopher Applebee.
