James was born December 27, 1942, to the late Gladys Leona Brown in Lawton, Oklahoma. He joined the United States Air Force in 1959. He married the love of his life, Kay Auer, in June of 1960. James traveled all around the world including Korea, Thailand, Spain, and Guam. He retired in 1981 as a MSGT at Altus Air Force Base. In 1984 they moved to Burkburnett, Texas. James then started working at the Transportation Department at Sheppard Air Force Base, retiring after 20 years in 2005.
James enjoyed riding motorcycles and traveling. He enjoyed traveling with Kay all over the country to places like the Grand Tetons, Deadwood and Yellowstone. Jim was a member of the Green Knights Motorcycle club until he fell ill and was unable to ride anymore. He kept other hobbies such as wood working and leather work, gun collecting and pestering Kay.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Gladys Brown; and numerous aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Kathryn Lynch of Burkburnett; two children, Lana Mullins and husband Timothy Mullins of Burkburnett, and Tim Lynch and wife Jet of Walters, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Bethany, Seth, Lindsay, and Larissa; thirteen great-grandchildren, Caden, Kylee, Austin, Ethan, Emma, Eden, Ayla, Carson, Collin, Addlie, Jaisley, Bristol, and J Axel.
The family would like to thank Beyond Faith Hospice, 1st Texas Home Health, and Ashvin Patel for all of the loving care they provided over the last two years.
