John William Rowe, 87, of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of College Park, MD, died on Saturday, March 12, 2022. He was born in Washington, DC, to the late Cecilia M. and John Joseph Rowe.

John was a Marine Corp. veteran and retired from the US Government Printing/Publishing Office after 39 years. He was active in The Lakes community for 25 years (picking up trash along the entrance road and along Hwy 17 bypass and doing other community activities). He helped locate sea turtle nests along Surfside's beaches and was a former member of the Myrtle Beach Senior Softball League. John enjoyed family activities such as bike riding, hiking, going to the beach and traveling. He was a good handyman around the house and community—he always had large or small projects he was working on. He loved going out for breakfast. John participated in many volunteer environmental cleanups both in Maryland and South Carolina. He was very popular in his kid's elementary classrooms because he would play kickball with them and he didn't hold back, that ball went flying.
