Richfield, Utah – Our loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt, Candice Horton Thompson, age 26, was taken from us on Sunday, March 27, 2022 after a tragic fall from Bull's Head while hiking with her beloved husband. She was born April 4, 1995 in Richfield, a daughter of Russell J. and Octavia Nielson Horton.

She graduated from Richfield High School, Class of 2013 where she was a Cheer Leader.

Candice married Colton Jon Thompson June 8, 2013 in the Manti LDS Temple. To this union were born four wonderful children.

Candice was a Nail Technician and worked with her mother at Octavia's. She had a great clientele and was very talented at what she did. She also enjoyed Home Décor, Young Living Essential Oils, and spending time with children, planning parties and events. She loved hiking, fishing, camping, riding ATV's, and bonfires, but her #1 priority was time spent with her family. Candice is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was always drawn to helping those less fortunate and in need. She was always taking neighbor kids under her wing and befriending them, sharing her talents freely, donating clothing and was always the first to lend a helping hand. Candice will be missed by so many.

She is survived by her husband, Colton; her children: Beckham Jon Thompson, Jackson Paul Thompson, Clara Octavia Thompson, Hallie Jo Thompson, all of Richfield; her parents: Russell J. and Octavia Horton of Richfield; siblings: Alesha and Ruston Jenson of St. George; Stephanie and Gavin Anderson of Nephi; Jordan Paul Horton of Richfield; grandparents: Russell P. and Cheryl Horton of Enoch; David and Janet Meyers of Beaver; Paul M. and Elva Nielson of Greenwich; her parents-in-law: Don and Marla Thompson of Richfield; sister-in-law: Candace and Tanner Malmgren of Mayfield; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by an aunt, Sheri Lynn Horton Brancato; and her great-grandparents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the Richfield 11th LDS Ward Chapel, 1040 South 400 West in Richfield. Friends may visit with the family at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel on Saturday from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services.

Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
