Virginia had a very personal relationship with God. She was baptized into the Catholic faith at St. Martin de Porres Church, where she later received her Catholic confirmation. Upon closure of St. Martin, she joined the St James Catholic Church family.
Virginia attended Carver High School and worked at the Holy Name of Jesus Hospital for many years. One of her greatest joys was working with the sick and elderly. Virginia's passion for the giving was so great that she devoted her spare time to caring for the elderly.
Virginia was united in marriage to George N. Clark until his untimely death. She was previously married to Arthur Stephens. To this union four children were born.
Virginia had many hobbies. She loved traveling, swimming, gardening, cooking and baking. "She made the best southern home cooked meals". I am sure that she has all of heaven craving the wonderful cakes that she bakes. Most of all, Virginia loved her grandchildren, sharing her hobbies with them and making them
laugh.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Grace Kerley and siblings; Juanita K. Wilson, Horace Kerley Jr., Annie R. Fearse, Emma D. Kerley, William F. Kerley, Charles Kerley, Ernest Ralph Kerley, Lorraine DeRamus, and James W. Kerley.
She is survived by her children. grandchildren, great grandchildren, special cousins, sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
A memorial service was March 25, 2022 at St. James Catholic Church.
