Joseph A. Harris III, devoted father, son, and brother passed away on March 26,2022 in Browns Mills, NJ at the Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital at the age of 58.
Joe was born in Wilmington, Delaware and is the son of Miriam (Montague) and Joseph A. Harris Jr. He was a proud Alumnus of Salesianum School, class of 1981 and made Sallies varsity football in his junior year as a starting defensive end.
He spent his entire working life of 30 plus years as a highly successful new and used car salesman, many times winning the top sales award at his dealership. His most enjoyable moments were when he would travel the country doing tent sales at various dealerships. One of his last stops was in Sheboygan, Wisconsin where he stayed on for about 10 years before moving to Cape May NJ to live with his sister, Sharon M. Simons (Harris) and brother-in-law, John Simons until his passing.
He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Francis and Catherine Montague and his paternal grandparents Joseph and Anna Harris. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer M. Harris (Julian); his parents and his siblings and their spouses, Kathleen Malick (Jeffrey), Michael Harris (Michele), Sharon Simons (John), Stephen Harris (Judy), Thomas Harris and David Harris along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral and burial will be private. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to Salesianum School, 1801 N. Broom Street, Wilmington, DE 19802 or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 2002 Sproul Rd # 102, Broomall, PA 19008.
