Dover - Karl A. Kohler, Sr., 71, entered the arms of Jesus on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at his home. He was the loving husband of Geraldine K. "Gerry" (Kroft) Kohler. The couple celebrated 53 years of marriage on June 29, 2021.

Born October 20, 1950 in Dover, Karl was a son of the late Charles L. and Irene (Crone) Kohler.

Karl worked as a plumber and pipe fitter with UA Local 520 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters. He was an active member of Rohlers Assembly of God where he had been a Board Member, Sunday school teacher, secretary and bus driver. Karl also volunteered with the Dover Food Bank.

In addition to his wife, Karl is survived by two sons, Karl A. Kohler, Jr. and wife Kimberly of York and James R. Kohler and wife, Amy Jo of Dover; four grandchildren, Ashley, James A., Kaitlyn and Kade Kohler; four great grandchildren, Austin, Aubrie, Page and Carter; two brothers, the Rev. Kevin Kohler and wife, Cindy of Harrisburg and Keith Kohler of Dover; and a sister, Patricia Shaw and husband, John of York. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Floyd Kohler.

Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the service to celebrate Karl's life at 11 a.m. and the visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Rohlers Assembly of God, 761 Rohlers Church Rd., Dover. Burial will follow in Suburban Memorial Gardens, 3875 Bull Rd., Dover. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Edward J. Rowand. Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover, is serving his family. Karl's request was that those in attendance dress casually and refrain from wearing black.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rohlers Assembly of God, 761 Rohlers Church Rd., Dover, PA 17315.
