Mike Malene was born on March 20, 1921 in Kennerdale, Pa.,the son of Samuele and Antoinette (Pio) Malene originally from Casalincontrada, Abruzzi, Italy and from Kennerdale. He was a 1940 graduate of Rockland High School and a 1946 graduate of the Utilities Engineering Institute of Chicago. He was an air conditioning and refrigeration serviceman by trade and he could fix anything! In 1944, he married Elizabeth Margaret Hale. They had seven children and 16 grandchildren. He died on Sept 9, 2001
