On October 10, 1946, she married Robert V Shirey. She was a 1945 graduate of Oil City High School and graduated from the Oil City Business School in 1946. She and Robert had four daughters, Joanne, Ginny, Deborah and Robin. Virginia worked for the Singer Sewing Company for over 20 years and for UPMC Medical Center for another 20 years. She loved to read, sew and play bridge.
