He was born on November 1st, 1959 to Nora and T.D. Carter.
Marty graduated from Appalachian State University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. Marty was a Certified Public Accountant and began his career with Deloitte & Touche, LLP.
On January 18th, 1992 he married Nicola and they raised their two children, son Zachary and daughter Chloe.
Marty was preceded in death by his father Tyre Dallas Carter.
Marty is survived by his wife Nicola, son Zachary and daughter Chloe, his mother Nora Carter, sister Sheila Sparks, and brother Sandy Carter.
A small, private funeral service will be held Friday, April 17th 2020 with a celebration of life to follow when the environment becomes safer.
