Jerry Clark Allen, 83, of Powell, OH, passed away at home on March 21, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Virginia (Rarey) Allen; and sisters, Judith Allen Foster and Janet Allen Esch.
He is survived by his spouse, Susan Perry Allen; sons, Douglas (Victoria) and Richard (Lacreasa); grandchildren, Daniel, Brittany, Clark, Eric, Mitchell and Chase; sister, Barbara (Jim); and brother, Jack (Pam).
After a few early years in Chagrin Falls, Jerry spent his childhood in Delaware, OH. He was the youngest Eagle Scout in the state at that time, and was president of his senior class at Willis. A member of Phi Delta Theta while at Ohio Wesleyan University, he graduated from The Ohio State University.
Jerry's career with Nationwide Insurance began in Columbus. The family moved with Nationwide to Connecticut and Pennsylvania before coming back to Columbus. He retired as VP of Operations.
Outside of work, Jerry was board member and chairman of the local CPCU chapter and also of Consumer Credit Counselling of Central Ohio. He joined his father-in-law as a member of Community Lodge of the Masonic Temple.
Jerry did all of the repairs around their various homes, and built everything from small boxes to large decks. A charter member of Wedgewood Golf and Country Club, Jerry liked golf followed by a good glass of scotch.
